When you invoke this command from the BUTN menu, it prompts you to click on a field. When you do, it creates an opaque Shrinker button to exactly cover that field. Each time you click on the Shrinker button, it shrinks in size so as to reveal one more line of the field beneath (working from the top down). The button disappears when there are no more lines to reveal. The button is restored when the slide is reset.
The command button omits the prompt, but otherwise functions the same as the menu command.
Like other buttons, Shrinker buttons can be included anywhere in a chain. Unlike all other buttons (except Stepper buttons), a Shrinker button can be the first item in more than one chain. For purposes of forming chains, each different size the Shrinker button takes is treated as essentially a new button, and can be the start of a new chain. Thus, for example, if the Shrinker button is revealing the items on a list one at a time, it can also set off a new chain each time it reveals a new item on the list.
If the field covered by a shrinker button contains some blank lines, you may wish to have the shutter button skip over the blanks, so to speak. It will not do so automatically, but you can "train" it to by taking advantage of the ability to start a new chain with each click. When the next click will only reveal a blank line (and therefore will make no visible change) use the BEGIN CHAIN… command, click this button TWICE, then use the END CHAIN command. Thereafter, at that point in its progress the Shrinker button will automatically shrink two lines instead of just one.
